Lanchester Community Centre, an events venue in Lanchester, the heart of County Durham, will be host to a summer barn dance on the evening of Saturday 16th July 2022 to raise vital funds for Henry Dancer Days.
Attendees will enjoy an evening of dancing, food and drink with traditional live music from The Gold Ring Ceilidh Band. An expert caller will be on hand to make sure that everyone has a great night, whether or not they have experienced barn dancing before. So, dig out your cowboy boots and dust off your denims for a jam packed evening of entertainment!
Proceeds from the night will support the vital work of Henry Dancer Days who supports children with cancer in hospitals around the UK.
Jane Nattrass, Charity Director of Henry Dancer Days says: “We are delighted to bring this new and exciting event to Lanchester. We have a loyal supporter base in Lanchester and surrounding areas and we are extremely grateful to them for their continued support. We also warmly welcome new individuals and organisations to Henry Dancer Days to find out more about our work whilst raising vital funds for children living with cancer.”
The evening kicks off at 7pm and tickets cost £20 each which includes a delicious hog roast. Carriages at 11pm.

Monies raised from the evening will help deliver our vital work which will be directly used towards our core services; £10 will help provide a storytelling session and buy a book for a child suffering from cancer in hospital. £20 will help provide a 1 to 1 pottery session for the child to create a memento that their family can treasure after they have gone. £50 will provide a 1 hour family pottery session in one of seven major childhood cancer hospitals and £250 will provide a vital life line to families struggling with the cost of caring for their terminally ill child.
